I'm the lucky one who has been a D5'er since its onset. I was introduced to FIRST at an informative meeting put on by several other SC teams at the University of South Carolina (I even got to ride a few Segways over the years). I knew it was something we had to have in our district because of the opportunity it offers young people, and the philosophy it instills in all. I am a chemistry teacher who has become robo-savy due to my involvement with the team. Each year I have seen students grow and graduate and I must say that to date, this is the most exciting group of students yet. They are taking our team to the next level and are diving into every aspect of the FIRST competition. :)
